Thread: Installing Heat Exchanger from ZZP

Well I got the new heat exchanger installed with the the Bosch water pump installed, but i can not seem to get the pump to flow the coolant through the system. I believe i dont have the pump in the correct position. I also think i might just have to much tubing.

Does anyone know what direction the pump is suppose to go in?

iF there's a higher outlet than the other, that's usually the outlet.

I will need to take more photos of the job, had to reassemble it without it functioning. Will have some new photos of the current setup this weekend. Have photos of the heat exchanger.

To be optimum it should be the lowest point of your system.

Well the lowest point will be the exchanger, it sits below the front bumper. But can the pump take the heat from the intercooler. I have tried to upload a picture for you guys to see, but my work doesn't allow Photobucket and the Photobucket app doesn't allow me to get the link for it.

Of course the photo that i have it will show the pump on the front bumper where the original pump was.

Here is the image of the heat exchanger with the water pump, but like i stated before the pumps is going to be relocated to the driver front Fender as the water comes down from the supercharger, this should allow the water to have enough momentum to access the pump, still worried about the heat. Also this still isnt the lowest point because of the heat exchanger.

I don't think thats it lol maybe try again?

dont have one. lol, but you say by the fog light, that seems to low for a lowered car in phoenix. plus how would i get a hose that will allow that kind of bend?


And plus this is where the orginal pump was, thought i could put it there again, but way wrong.

well my coolant bottle is also being moved from the driver front to the standard 99+ coolant bottle. Thanks for the idea of the bend in the pipe like that. i still have to find a way to stop the exchanger from bumping into the ac condenser or on my car the Tranny cooler. The pic shows the wrong way to put it in, i had to actually reverse it so the pump would go into the fog light of the driver side, still a little worried about that but i will have to find a welder to put something together.

I actually had to put back on, this is my daily driver. The entire car needs a deep, deep bath. But when you become a father time it allocated differently.

Giving you an update, will be trying again tomorrow, in 110 degree weather, will have more photos for you guys.

Well I finally got it installed and have it where the pcm sits, still doesnt pump as strong as i thought it might but it is flowing. I tried to put in the 99+ radiator reservoir, but could've figure out how to get it in place without it hitting the pulley's, so i put a small back up reservoir from auto zone. All that is left is changing the intake, need to find a new way to put on in.

well i will be putting my other pump back on, because it flows better.
