Connection of Manual Oil Pressure Gauge

How do you connect a manual Oil Pressure Gauge I want to go with the Cobalt autometer gauge and I just do not have to money to get the Electric one

Should be able to put it in where the factory oil sending unit is at. Not sure where it's located. Probably will have to use a adapter. If you have a manual, you should be able to find its location in there. If not let me know and if nobody else can give you the location, i'll look in mine and let you know.

There is a plate that holds the oil filter. On that plate you will find the oil sending unit for the stock system. You can remove the stock sending unit and replace with a sending unit for your guage, OR, get a gasket for the plate, remove the plate and drill and tap a hole next to the original sending unit. You will need a 45 deg elbow so that the sender does not hit the CV axle, but I have been runing mine for over 5 years with no problems.

The oil pressure sending unit is located next to, and a bit higher than, the oil filter on the back side of the oil filter adapter. It's easy to get to with the right front jacked up and the wheels turned to the left, or with the passenger front off. Most likely, you will have to use an adapter because our sending unit uses a different size/pitch hole than most gauges. There should be a small assortment of adapters that come with the gauge, however.

Thanks for all that and one more question is it better to go with a short sweep electric or a Manual because there is not much differance between them two in price

I went with the elect one, If you have a manual and the line breaks or melts or gets cut, your SOL...with a Elect one you just loose the guage.

Ever try to clean up spilled engine oil off carpet? Fail.

Electric is a nice investment, and worth the money. I would say save up, and spend more, and live worry free. The electric one is pretty idiot proof to wire in. One sender wire, a 12v power light source and a ground, done.

Yea I think that I am going to go with the short sweep electric they are almost the same price as the Mechanical ones and there is no chance of messing up my sweet interior. THanks for the help everyone

I got an auto meter mechanical guage for mine and the included fitting worked perfect and I never had any melting or cutting issues... I ran it for a year or so until I sold the pod and guages. It was only $35... Just be aware of where you are running the line...
