All you need is bigger injectors and a tune. You will probably clog up a fuel filter or 2 shortly after a conversion, so they will need to be replaced.

I purchased a race-tronix fuel pump because I was hunting down a fueling issue I had. Turns out one of the feed lines under the hood was kinked and bent. I hear the stock pump will flow just fine for e85. And depending on your mods, you might be able to drop 3 or 4 pulley sizes on e85. A cammed car with headers should be able to run a 3.0 or 2.8 no problem without an intercooler on e85. Usually those setups run a 3.4- 3.2 on pump gas

My 98 has a metal tank and so did my 99 parts car.

Dang those are some pretty powerful statements there. I may consider this for my next mod if i dont buy a tuner. (or both)

Did you dyno after the conversion? I'd like to see numbers. Did you mention what kind of mileage you are getting?

Holy hell there is an E85 station literally a block from my house. I didnt notice because its not really a gas station...

And a little something for everyone to think about: I installed a full size inter-cooler and dropped from a 3.1 to a 2.8 pulley on premium gas, then re-tuned.

I feel more of a power gain from switching to e85 without dropping another pulley size and without dialing in the tune.

I think I'd go to Ryan for a tune too.. How do you go about the tune.. do you just show up on a tank of e85 and injectors installed? My friend had to tune his car for the injectors then empty the pump gas and put e85 in and retune. sound right?

Ryan didn't do my e85 tune. I had Brian from Dynotune Motorsports do it.

best way to do this is to switch the injectors with as little gas in the tank as you can. fill up on e85 and drive around very carefully and slowly until you are empty again (do this on un-tuned injectors). Then fill back up and tune for the injectors and the e85.

When you put the injectors in without a tune, it will allow you to be able to drive around on e85. Try to stay out of boost and definitely do not go WOT until you go through the first tank of e85 and re-tune.

It's pretty safe as long as you're smart about it.

The un-tuned injectors will make the fuel trims pretty close to where it should be anyway for e85. It's just a matter of getting all the gasoline out the tank. The AFR will be rich until it's all out. There's really no way around driving until the gas is all purged. Then of course WOT tuning.

Buy NEW fuel tank, replace injectors, replace fuel filter, while tank, filter, and injectors are out hook air hose to lines and blow out all fuel from the lines. Assemble everything, trailer to local e85 station, fill with E85, trailer to place for tuning.

Otherwise, use precaution and don't kill your car

I meant like run your car completely out of gas (until it dies), put in your e85 tune and injectors, add a couple of gallons of E85 from a jug, then drive to a station and fill the tank. They probably all work though.

Run the tank empty, get a can of e-85, tune for your new injectors you are installing while the tank is empty, add 30% fuel for E-85, drive the car fill the rest of the way and start dialing in the tune. I do not recommend running around on un tuned injectors and e-85 at all that is horrible advice.
