Things that will help with knock are

Better flowing exhaust. Start at the front exhaust manifold, Ubend and 2.25" baby piping that W bodies came with. (2.5" on the H's..lol)

Consider a set of rockers or a cam.

Heat going into intake, a Gen V helps that out very nicely.

    Tune

Now if you still want more power, start dropping pullies because then you have a solid setup to handle the pulley drops better than simply swapping a different one on.

Cheap isn't something it's going to be if you do it right. However I'd start off by letting that fresh octane bring the timing tables back up to par before you jump into mods. Maybe fuel is all you needed, maybe you chipped a piston and your first mod will be new motor.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    A grand?

    Find a used intercooler setup.

Then you can just toss a 3.2" on there right now.

3.2" is out of your territory without a cam/intercooler/E85/Methanol Injection...if I were you...

    SD Headers - ~$200
    3800Performance DHP PCM - ~$200
    ZZP MPS System with a 3.4" - ~$100
    180* T-Stat - ~$10
    AL104 Spark Plugs - ~$10
New Lifetime Warranty Plug Wires - ~$30
ZZP Or Intense Poly Upper Mounts(Square and Bushings) - ~$100?
    New Motor Mount/Solid Trans Mount - ~$100

And then save the rest for whatever...like hookers and booze.

    Ummm...*sigh*

Told ya in the chat before to read my safely modding thread...still doubt you have with these questions.

    But.

    Whateva.

You don't want factory plugs with a smaller pulley, guy...doesn't matter how new they are.

    intake
    plugs
    tstat
    tune
    pulley (3.4ish)

    or:

    Headers
    E85
    intercooler
    pulley (about a 3.2 or 3.0)

Can't run E85 without injectors or a CUSTOM tune...which would rack that price up quite a bit if he didn't know anyone...

MAYBE since he is stock he could get away with cheaper 42.5's...but most likely he'd need 60's...

An intercooled, E85, car with a custom tune shouldn't have ANY issue running a 3.0" or lower IMO...but that's just me, especially on stock timing.

Great thanks for the info guys really apreciate the help. But now that i found headers i want to go a 3" down pipe and cat back exhaust . Im looking to go a decent exhaust but not too pricey . Thanks roughly around 800$ for headers and cat back and down pipe . Question about the down pipe . Is it really worth it going 3 " for a 3.4" pulley setup , let me know or is it good enough to run a 2.5" stock.

Dude headers is the only exhaust mod you need to do. It has a 3" dp already, it just reduces to 2.5" where it bolts to the catback. $250 for SD's, band clamps and copper RTV, save the rest of that exhaust money.
