so running the car without the supercharger belt makes it an N/A? Didnt know that. That could probably save someone gas

your saying you cant afford gas thats 4.00 per gallon. Its an illusion man or a nearly even trade off if you run premium 91 92 93 you get better fuel mileage which offsets the cost. 87 is 15 cents or so less per gallon and you lose what you made up in mileage? Just put higher octane in it it costs nearly the same no matter what you put in it lol.

Here its about $0.20 difference, $0.10 per rating. You say you can't afford the difference but you want to spend the money to BUY Octane booster to make up the difference. That "seems" smart but take a look at the cost differences.

At $0.20 difference per gallon (I usually fill up about 13-14gal) that would be $2.80 more in the end. A whopping $3.40 if you were BONE dry and it took 17 gals (will never happen) Now... find me a can of Octane Booster that will transform 16gal (normal treatment for a whole can) of 87 into 93, and spend less than the differences.

Just do like we all do, bite the bullet, put in the 93, and tell the others complaining about the cost of Regular to kiss your A$$

Not necesarily. I run my 03 Crown Vic Sport V8 on 87 and it runs just fine w/ no ping. BUT, it is not boosted so if I don't get any spark knock/ping, then 87 is fine. Filling that 20 gallon tank with 93 is not what I'm looking to do if I don't have to

I also run my 00 Grand Prix GT and 95 Bonneville SE on 87 and they seem to do just fine. Haven't lunched a motor yet due to knock. Stop listening to people that may give bad info, read the owners manual for EACH car you own and follow their recommendations for octane levels and you should be fine.

My 99 GTP manual says in BIG BOLD letters to use Premium Unleaded Fuel ONLY... For the supercharged applications. Just like it does on the fuel door, guess as a last warning before you start with the premature detonation of your engine

Your NA GT/SE can get by with 87 with no problems, top swap and run 87 and tell us how far you get.

Hot Dam Im Good!!! 1999 Grand Prix PDF

"If you have the 3800 Supercharged V6 engine (VIN
Code 1), use premium unleaded gasoline rated at
91 octane or higher. With the 3800 Supercharged
engine, in an emergency, you may be able to use a lower
octane -- as low as 87 -- if heavy knocking does
not occur. If you are using 91 or higher octane unleaded
gasoline and you hear heavy knocking, your engine
    needs service."

I would just about get down the street, then I would blow out a piston or 2, lol... Gotta love having a highway as your main street. Pull out and gooooo!! These rednecks will run you over if you don't.

Yea, it'll need service alright. Like a towing service, then an engine replacement service, and then your wallet will need service

How'd that song go again... click, click, BOOM!
