    I'm actually getting ready to do some modified 1.9 rockers myself. I'm picking up the springs from GM parts direct as mentioned above, reusable rocker bolts from zzp, and LS retainers. So I think I have everything I need.

    However, I didn't see head gaskets anywhere so I am assuming this is being done with the head still on the block. How do you guys do that? I've always pulled the head and used a spring compression tool.

    You still use the spring compression tool but an "Air hold" also. The air hold screws into the hole for the spark plug and puts pressure into the cylinder. That way you don't have to take the heads off.
