Bryant.. my first cam install on my own I had other people working on stuff in the garage and I was seriously overmultitasking.
I put air to the cylinders with the entire bottom end unbolted. Wasn't thinking at all. Blew a piston out the bottom of the motor. Basically killed the motor out of the car, on an engine stand. Put it together in hopes it was ok. Started it found the flex holes were egged, it was installed 180 off. Pulled and fixed that. Then drove 200 miles before the bearings let go. Got another motor, put everything into it and it was knocking in under 5 miles. Just a bad motor. Swapped it again and that motor was amazing.
Hang in there.. yours is an easy fix hopefully. You'll get it.
BoostnBlackGTP> it had play with the tensioner on
I'm gonna limp... from breakin my foot off in your azz. Can we change the name of this thread to "Bryant changes his mind faster than any woman"
i neevr said anything about it with the tensioner off bill.
Just the pic is with it off. The fvcking chain had play in it with the god dam tensioner on. jesus fvcking christ
Bryant, please back up and read what your screen name typed. You said exactly what I quoted. Nick said with the tensioner off it had play, you reiterated what he said.
Slow down your typing when you have a problem. It'll make the diagnosis much easier. Because so far this entire thread has been 3-4 of us making suggestions based on your typing contradictions.
See why everyone is typing in caps to you?
Caps mean were yelling...because were mad.
Duh.
You got the wrong cam gear. Fix it.
Gears and chain are the same NA to SC.
I cam swap motors all the time, there's no grinding. Who's being stupid? Who is quoted above as being contradictory to the guys trying to help him? Who is the one swaering up a storm?
Be careful..you might find that guy if you look in a mirror.![]()
X2 **** happens, but most people just buy a new stock timing chain and dampener and that's it, not from an auto parts store but from the dealer itself, one of the vendors so it is OEM.
Just take your time and don't rush anything when you put it back together, it's your car so triple check things, ask questions and get it right this time and be happy when it's over. People are giving you so much **** because they've been there before or done worse at one point.
Put your stock gears back on, get a new chain and call it a day.
Nooo we are giving him **** because he keeps contradicting himself. I've known women that made more sense.
