Well I hopped in my 2000 GTP to go to work and as I pulled out of the driveway I noticed the SES light on and I instantly saw that I wasn't boosting anymore. Drove fine besides the no boost on the way to work. Looks like I'll have to dig into it when I get off tonight. Was just looking for some common causes to help point me in the right direction so I can get it all working again ASAP.

Tell us what code is set and that'll give the best help in diagnosis.

Til then..it could be something simple like a bad BCA/BCS etc.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I'd have to wait till I'm home to pull the code unless there is a key trick to get the code.

    We are willing to wait.

See the code will probably enlighten us and save you time/money on the fix.

I'll maybe try to run over to auto zone and have them pull the code to get a jump start on things. Is the BCS/BCA right on the supercharger? I have a second supercharger sitting in the back seat that I could yank parts off of............ I'm proficient with cars and engine work but I haven't done any engine work on the 3.8 yet.

Money's on "Front Bank Lean." Check the Rubber T under your s/c snout. It might be pulled off (they often dry rot and tear), causing a vacuum leak, which means that your MAP sensor won't see your boost and can't relay it to the computer, and therefore the DIC.

Thanks. That's the type of info I'm looking for. Just common problems to give me a starting point.

Alright....is there anything with the coupler/snout that could cause it not to spin the internals to cause no boost? Think that'd the worst case scenario right?

If you have a belt, it's turnin.

You have no boost and an SES light, car is complaining about something. See where I'm goin. There's little you can do w/o looking at the car.

Well its all one belt I think (right?). No charging problems so I know the belt is intact. Looks like it must be vacuum/BCS/BCA related. Thats where I'll start looking once I can get out of work. Thanks again for the help pointing me in the most probable direction.

One belt..uh no. Two belts. SC is by itself. Most likely you didn't hear the idler pulley going back and it seized up, then sent the belt into the abyss.

Odd that you didn't hear any of that happening.

Well....how easy should the super charger spin by hand? Guess the things to check is the idler pulley and the supercharger itself right?

Maybe it broke last night right before I pulled into the driveway..i did have the stereo cranked.

the blower should spin fairly easily, but you gotta realize youre spinning the weight of the rotors too so it wont spin for any considerable amount of time. to lock up the blower youd have to do something catastrophic.

Should it be number nine I have had the same thing happen. I still have the internals of what used to be a bearing in the #9 spot, the pulley.... dunno just disappeared. Never heard anything (radio was up enough to cover the wind noise @ 55mph with windows down), went to get onto highway and had no power at 3/4 throttle... quick check and no boost either, pulled over, pulley was gone and belt was kindly laid on the supercharger lol.

Buy a Gatorback belt if you can find a store that sells them. Bill can probably supply the number for it, best belt by far. And check for the pulley, if its there still, spin it, if it has a rough spot at all it needs to be replaced. Odds are tho, itll be gone or really Fubar

Pulley number 8 is no longer there..... Pulley 3 and 9 aren't in the best shape either so i think i'm going to replace them all right away.
