well ive been searching and i havnt been able to come up with anything. im about to buy SD header kit. its going on my 97, any tips i should know about or maybe pointed towards a how to thread. as it sits, this kit will be getting rid of my cat so will i need an 02 sim or an extension? my engine mount is shot, would be recommended to replace that first? thanx for any advise.

A lot of people use speed daddys. Upgrade the gaskets and clamps and you'll be good to go. You can weld in an 02 bung if you need it, but I think it comes with one iirc.

For the motor mount, ZZP and WBS have poly mounts.

I hope that gets you in the right direction.

Yeah, the Speed Daddy headers come with front and rear o2 bungs, and a rear o2 plug.

For the motor mount, you can get a solid one (no leaks) from your auto parts store for like $50, and they have a lifetime warranty.

You will need an o2 extension for the front o2 sensor
    ZZ Performance

it says 04+ but it works fine on mine.

    heres a write-up
    http://www.grandprixforums.net/speed...eup-32920.html

get band clamps, and use lots of RTV.
I reused my stock exhaust gaskets, and they sealed fine.

ive done 3 sets of sd headers myself, make sure b4 you put them on u insert the crossover pipe to make sure it goes in right, you need to upgrade to band clamp, i believe 2 3" and i believe 2 2 1/4" band clamps are needed. also small problem may occur with the front o2 sensor, u may need to bend or dent the place on the firewall where the o2 mounts into the header, not alot of room, also i would recommend install of the o2 b4 you mount the header. also obviously you start with the back one first, you can leave the bolts loose or tighten them all the way. you will have to rock that engine forward all the way to get that rear header in place, its better when the heads are off! good luck

If you can, get the downpipe welded because the slip-joint on my car slipped out and my car was running open downpipe. Luckily i have a friend who welds!

    Open downpipe is boss.

I drove around for about a week, open DP, just cause it sounds nice...terrible at anything over like 1000rpm tho...lol

I find with my car now shifting into fourth stupidly low (37 mph) that I really hate the sound of the engine at 1200 RPM under load..... its just bad.

with headers?! coming from an ls, if it shakes the car while ideling, i have a smile. when you rev it, and neighbors look out their doors thinking its a drag car, i have a smile. when i drive around and the exhaust drowns out the stereo, i have a smile. curious as to how a v6 will sound with headers

your car makes 280 ft lbs at the crank.

If your T/A made that you wouldn't have been impressed with it either
