The VS cam should be close to the same as doing rockers. So $555 for everything to put the cam in. $205 for headers, $100 for plugs/fluids/dremel/air grinder bits. $50 for the pulley Port the blower/intake/throttle body (not sure on the intake tbh). Then go and get a tune. So i'm looking at $910. Intercooler can be added at a later date if I want to go further. Put in a few of the other things that come up and I should be able to stay close to my $1000 goal (preferably) Seem like a good plan?

The VS cam makes a lot more power than rockers thrugh the entire powerband. You won't feel the gains from rockers until the 4000 rpm range. That's why 105 springs are recommended for rockers, So you can run higher rpm's to reach where the power is.

The VS cam can be ran on stock springs with stock shift points & still make a load of torque. And all hell breaks lose when you stiffen up the springs and run higher RPM's.
But I definately understand the value for the price difference. But don't feed into the BS about rockers making the same power as cams (even a small one) it isn't true.

    VS cam build 13.01@107 316whp/ XP build #1 12.78@110 334whp/ XP build #2 12.56@113 347whp
IS3 Cam build (Ready to put out some serious numbers)

I think you misunderstood me. With the price being close to similar I might as well do a cam. Think I've talked myself into doing either the VS or SX1 cam. I'd imagine that the cam also has a lower dynamic compression ratio allowing a person to run more boost than a stock/rocker cam.
