Morning folks , I'm at it again this morning tearing down for the lim gasket job(1997 L67). I ran into a snag, I'm trying to get the alternator bracket off, and it won't budge. I pulled 3bolts out, and it seems loose as a goose, but looks like it's hanging up where it has a 90degree bend, and goes into the water pump. I don't know if it's just from corrosion or what. This bracket must be an earlier version, because I only see one plastic elbow, and the other one is part of the aluminum bracket. This make any sense, I've been wiggling ,and using a rubber hammer on it, and it won't just let go of the block. Help.

Keep working it back and forth with a pry bar, it will eventually come off. Most of the time tho that style breaks the aluminum elbow and you need a new bracket.
