I broke it!!!!! :-(

So we got dumped on in Erie, pa heading to my girlfriends house took a sharp turn snow wasnt too deep started sliding, Me being a Dumb A$$ try to turn the wheel and and gas out of the skid(fake Drift), slide into the curb BANG!!! I hit the curb and now cant go straight without the steering wheel turnt some and doesnt like to hold a straight line(bad even for snow) wheel rubs the inside of the well if i turn it to far either direction.
Ideas on the damage and how much?

Hopefully just bent the lca and tie rods... The subframe is pretty beefy on the W body

what did u hit... the rear or front... cuz my car did the same thing and i hit the rear and bent the trailing arm way in and the track bar.

Front drivers side, any idea how much a mechanic would charge, my girlfriends family mechanic who i got it from is really cheap on prices so, just ball park estimate anyone?

1 gazillion dollors. You probably broke the following...

-control arm
-tie rod end
-the inner tie rod
-rim?

hopefully you didn't bend your p/s rack

Doubt it's a broke tie rod if he's still driving the car.

It's safe to say you most likely trashed a inner or outter tie rod if not both, Conrtol arm could very well of got bent during the impact along with the wheel. It's hard to say intill you get it up in the air as to what the exact issue's are. Let a good tech take a look at it and give the car a good shake down. To be to shocked if it get's a bit costly, bending S&S item's can make for a salty out come. Once all items are replace or repaired the correct way I'd be sure to have at least a front end alinment performed. If you do a hack job repair then be ready for alinment shop's to tell you to make correct repairs befor they do the work on their end.

I dropped it off at the shop that i bought it from today, sometime tomorrow he will let me know whats up. It sucks depending on my girlfriend for a ride again

Yeah, depending on some body for a ride is not much fun at all. But at least your making some head way on getting some repairs made. Keep us posted.

So mechanic said i bent the control arm and something that is linked with it and the engine or tranny or something he told me $200 to fix. That gets me because i told him when i brought it i didnt plan on seeing you till i was ready to put some headers on it and he laughed. And that is about the price of some speed daddy's SMH

200 Dollar's for repairs is a deal! I wouldnt be to dispointed with that. I thought it'd be a fair bit more then what he told you.

gfs monte got hit in parking lot. bent the inner tie rod. they replaced it then the whole rack leaked all the fluid out.

That almost happened to me the other day. Front wheel drive cars suck in snow since the front end likes to plow forward on any amount of gas. I was going relatively slow and I started sliding towards a huge curb. I turned towards the curb which seems counterintuitive and managed to get the car going where I wanted it to go. That saved me a banged up wheel.
