Okay here are is my problem. I changed the LIM gasket, SC to IM gasket, thermostat, temp sensor and injector o-rings. I did have some gunk in a coolant passage but cleaned it out. See pics from change here http://www.grandprixforums.net/lim-change-blocked-coolant-passage-40439.html

So get it all back together, change the oil, fill with coolant and bleed cooling system. Then my temp goes to 260 and I shut it down. Fans did kick on. let it cool, refill with more coolant and bleed again. Temp goes to 210, before I changed gaskets it was always around 190. Well temp rises to 230 then drops to 180 and keeps cycling this way. I try to bleed air out of the cooling system again and it keeps doing the same thing. So I think I have a huge air bubble. Also after the car cools down the upper radiator hose collapses, why?

I take it to a mechanic at a dealership and he thinks air bubble as well. Puts a vacuum adapter on radiator and applies 25 inches of mercury gets a good bit of air out of the system. warms engine up and no change, temp still fluctuating all over. Radiator hose collapsed again during the bleed. He thinks it is blocked and needs a flush.

Go to Firestone and they connect to coolant flusher they use, well upper hose collapes and they think blockage as well and they stop the flush. They did not try to continue. Tell me to try and flush it myself. Also asked if thermostat was installed right with gaskets . Yes it is with the point and cross bar up. So sent off with no fix and temp still fluctuating all over.

So I get a flush kit, drain system and add radiator flush. So run it thru as directed then drain and add water and repeat. Did get some dirt and crud out. Then I do the backflow flush and drain. Add coolant and another new thermostat bleed system and go for a drive. Well it was running at 210 then temp goes up to 230 or so then drops to 190 ish and keeps repeating.

Before all of this my car always ran around 190 ish and did not fluctuate as it does now. So what is my next step? I am going to call some radiator shops in the morning to see what they say. I have looked at tons of threads about overheating and have not been able to nail this down. Please help with any info you may have as I am ready to just blast it with my shotgun now! Thanks in advance!

Maybe it's the coolant temperature sensor acting up?
