so my buddy gave me a free supercharger with very few miles and i wanted to swap it out with my current one and this is why im skeptic, when he tried to change out the couplar on it he stripped on of the holes in the body of the supercharger and he had a machine shop redrill that hole, im wondering if thats going to effect anything? when i spin the pulley the turbines spin freely and seem okay, so would i be safe doing so? i can get pics and vid if more helpful

i would say as long as the roters arnt chewed up and look good and there isnt excessive play in the bearings then it would be fine. Just helacoil the houseing and reuse the bolt, smear a little rtv on bothsides of the gasket and should be fine...

RTV, gasket, blower? There should never be RTV used anything blower wise unless your sealing a custom adapter to the end of it. Anarobic sealer for the snout...and no RTV for the gasket to the LIM...or for the gasket for the TB for that matter.

i haven't needed to replace my sc coupler so i dont know if there is a gasket... i just assumed there was one there... when i say use a little rtv i truly mean a LITTLE.. small film just to seal out imperfections from cleaning the surfaces... and his case the smaller sealing surface from A. drilling out the case(from my understanding a larger hole..) or B. helacoiling it.. nothing in the scene that would cause oozing... as far as lim gaskets i ALWAYS use some rtv the damn water passages are always pitted and the thin little line where the little rubber seals are i dont trust to match up perfectly... a film to "fill in" the pits cant hurt anything... i have done it on my car and my buddy's numerousness times and never had a leak... we started doing it after we had to pull the lim for a cam swap and didnt use rtv and low and behold he ended up with a damn coolant leak...pulled the lim put a little rtv around the lim and heads and reused the new gaskets that had like 2 hours on them and low and behold no leaks... people have a bad feeling of using rtv its just a matter of useing it smartly and not using it like they are sealing their bathtub with caulking....

blue took great care of me and i found out the supercharger is in great condition.
Just one more question, i replaced the cuplar in it yusterday and assembled it back just the way its supposed to be, but i didnt put any sealer between the cone and the bearing plate, so do i need to go back and do so? if i do why?

every one keeps saying anaerobic sealer so i have been calibrated on it... so i will go with them.. as far as how much. be smart about it use enuff that when it is tighten down that it will create a solid seal but done use so much that it is going to ooze and make a buch of "floaters" inside the snout...
