oh really.. so do i just get the stage 2 ones then? cause thats 150 bucks cheaper or do i go with the others?

Stage 2 should be plenty unless you are going to be launching 450hp on slicks, but buy then you will just be twisting your input shaft in half.
280 WHP, right wheels, track prep, tune and driver skill and 12's are yours.
cam alone should get you that far with headers, ported S/C and a good tune.
Both should put you in the low 300's.
E85 alone is worth a lot of power.
But there are like 2.5 stations in canada...
really? a cam alone with my 90 lb springs, headers, 3.x? pulley will get me the same as the ic? cause if thats true maybe i should re think all of this and even later down the road slap an IC on there if i ever wanted too. that frees up like 500 dollars too
Cam will set you back around 800.
I/C is 900 from WBS....
Not much difference at all price wise.
Cam is much more labour intensive and I/C really is a safer mod for the engine.
800? I would just pick up the VS cam and leave stock heads. Thats only 350 i thought The more work and labor is where i dont know if its worth it. the VS cam is really small right? so for reliability if everything is done proper should i be worried?
VS cam is what, 350.
Now you need a S/c gasket, possibly valve cover gaskets, LIM gasket, might as well replace the lifters since its all apart ($120 for a 16 LS7 lifters if you hunt for 'em), then a front cover gasket set, crank bolt, cam bolt, new timing chain and tensioner or just a timing set.
It adds up.
XP or S1X would give you a better chance of 12's than the VS.
VS + meth or I/C should work.
But no one can really tell you 100% because your engine will respond differently to mods.
they're TTY.
but all you really need to do is put loctite on them?
A little blue loctite on the crank bolt I leave the cam bolt dry.
oh ya true, i guess i really didnt think about that lol. But still a cam will sound sweet and give the power so thats a win winwhat about injectors should i for sure upgrade those?
you'll prolly be pushing the stockers and as soon as you want to go intercooled you'll need them.
Dont really think VS is a big power cam so you might be looking at low 13's granted everything else goes as planned.
Ok so I think I'm set then, black friday I will order everything here's what ill get so far.
VS cam with 90 lb springs and retainers
Double rollmaster chain
All the neccessary gaskets and what not
What size pulley 3.25 or 3.1?
Lifters
Stage 2 axles
That should cover it. Then I will have my headers, open cone, 3 inch exhaust, built tranny.
That's sounds pretty good no?
Just wondering...why the upgraded valvetrain and not getting a bigger cam? A VS is for stock based valvetrain...just sayin'. I'd go with an XP or S1X. Assuming your GenV...a 3.1" is pushing it with a little VS...I'd honestly go with a 3.4" or 3.3" and crank the timing. You'll see better gains...then you won't have to upgrade injectors.
double roller for #90 springs?
Just get crow cam 105's or 90's and use a new stock chain and dampener.
I am also in favour of a larger cam.
However the VS will make your car sound like it has a bit of a misfire instead of the mild lope of say the XP.
Also...the 90's are pretty rough on a stock chain/dampner Matt. I had them with my XP and 40K later...the dampner was chewed up already.
