What would you do if it were your car and you would like to dip into the 13's eventually, which is the best starting point for the money
(remember my L67 bottom end is gone)
L32 swap = 1000 for complete motor with 23,000 miles 30 day warr

    L67 replacement engine= 750 with 86,000 miles 30 day warr

    L36 bottom swap= 450 for engine with 38,000 mile + 250 for refurbishing
    heads

I installed my l67 heads to my NA 3800 last night. I ordered a vs. Cam and a set of headers as well. With the higher compression ratio do I have to stay at 3.8 pulley or can I drop down to a 3.4 ?

stay at the 3.8 for now until you get the car dialed in. then run more boost and tune it for it.

i'd say 3.5 or 3.4 pulley is prolly what you'll end up running with those mods.

put on the 3.8 until you go to get it tuned.

Then see how it runs with that and move from there.

How many people have been boned on EBay over the years? Tons. I rest my case. At least I can go to a junkyard and yank the heads and look at what I'm buying...how do you know they aren't posting a picture of something that they had or such? I'm just playing the devils advocate here.

We buy a large amount of used engines from LKQ (keystone) so i get a decent price and they have always stood behind their warranty. I dont think i could ever buy a motor from ebay, to risky for me. I am having the blower ported and was wondering about the throttle body. I noticed alot of you use t-bodies without the MAF in them (LS1 style ), just curious why? Is there a decent ported t-body that would work without mods? I am trying to budget build this car for fun. So far so good.
98 regal gs 600$ blown bottom end
    Stock L36 bottom end $400 36,234 miles
    heads cleaned and checked $50
Gasket set - had most of them
Headers - speed daddy $200 with shipping
    Blower ported -
VS cam- waiting on Black friday sale
Hoping for close to 300fwhp but if not thats cool it'll still be a fun car
If you have any other rec.. or advice fire away always appreciate the input

I have never been screwed on ebay. Just smooth out your maf hump in your tb there is a write up on here. With what you want to do you would not need a bigger tb.

High comp with a VS and other supporting mods should be about 275 FWHP...intercooled I bet you might see 300...for sure with head work.
