I'm looking to add a little more power to my GTP, and I want your guys' opinion on it. I know it's been beat to death, so bear with me

Right now I have Headers, CAI, Downpipe, 180* TStat, and 3.4" Pulley. It's great for a daily driver, but I want a little more power (Cobalt SS's keep up with me).

I don't want to rip into the engine, because this is my daily driver and I want to complete these mods in a weekend. I was thinking a full size Intercooler, Ported LIM, Ported Blower, Ported Throttle Body, 1.9 Ratio Rocker Arms, 42.5# Injectors, and a 3.0" Pulley. I will continue to run the stock exhaust, because I like how quiet it is, blower whine is awesome.

I've read it's not a good idea to shift above 6k with 1.9 rockers and stock springs, but with 107k miles on the car, would it be a good idea to go ahead and change out the springs anyway? What springs? What can I raise my shift points to if I upgrade the springs?

I will obviously be getting a tune afterwards, but I wanted to know if I could technically drive around after the mods, as long as I didn't go WOT.

    Thanks.

an intercooler and rockers are basically two of the most plug and play parts you can have. a tune will help you out, but the car will run fine even before you tune it. however, i wouldnt say that an intercooler isnt 'tearing into the motor' and same with rockers. are you comfortable doing this kind of work?

Yes I am...the work done to my Trans Am was all done by me...granted it took me 2 weeks to complete, but it runs strong.

To me, pulling the Supercharger off is nothing (an hour at most)...internal work to me is like a Cam or Heads.

This is the almost the exact setup i want to run...is a 3" pulley possible without the IC or would i have to go up to like a 3.2"

i had a hard time running a 3.2 on headers/rockers with any reasonable amount of timing.

I'd just stick with the 3.4" and be able to run a bunch of timing. Those are good mods to be able to do in a weekend.

If your going to toss an intercooler and rockers on it...buy 1.84 Rollers. You can run the shift points up to 6K where they need to be and you won't have to worry about changing valve springs. With 1.84 Roller Rockers, a Stage 2 Intercooler, a re-tune and a pulley drop, probably to a 3.2"...unless you buy injectors...then I don't see why you couldn't run a 3.0" or a 2.8"...but then your looking at enough power to where you'll be needed transmission work.
