Don't do the direct link man do the [IMG]http://www.blahblahblah[\IMG] link just copy and paste it. Then the photo will show up vs having to click on your links.
the boot was connected to my spark plug nice and snug, it isnt touching anything but the spark plug and maybe whatever the spark plug touches.
If you manifold is cracked it could melt the plug boot like that.
Wow......that's rough. Its no where near as bad as I was thinking it was.
the manifold is cracked somewhat near to the spark plug. the crack has been there for 2 years. my old plug boot didnt char up for over a year.
More than likely your plug wire is touching the exhaust. Do you have something pulling the wires away from the exhaust manifold?
And you are positive it's #3 and not #6?
Did you check to make sure the Valve cover isn't leaking? Number #3 cylinder is typically where oil leaks start when the gasket has failed.
boot isnt touching anything. it seems like the wire got a bit worn right by the boot. ill probably just tape the **** up.
how about replacing the manifold.......
