so i have a 2000 3.8 supercharge gtp, and i notice all of a sudden it start to make some funny noise, like rocks rolling in it or marbles tumbling. i did some research and everyone is telling me that is could be the coupler and oil, i check both, oil is there and the coupler is not worn out.after all that i notice, that the alternator tensioner is shaking, well im in the process of changing it now, but the funny thing about this is that the noise is loud when starting and driving the car,but once you turn the ac on the noise stops completely. so as soon as i change the tensioner i will let you know the result.

The ac puts more pressure on the pulley and takes up the play.

so that means its the tensioner indeed, not the coupler

Take off the supercharger belt and see if it stops. if it stops, its the coupler.

i have a 98 supercharged and it makes a noise similar to that but only at idle. it also gets worse when i turn the wheel. could it just be my power steering pump? im new with this car so i dont know alot about them..

ted you probably should add power steering fluid that should take care of yours, unless your leaking really bad in which case you need to get it replaced... probably should look into that either way

The flexplate is the flywheel. It bolts to the back of the crank, which in turn gets bolted to the torque converter in the transmission.
