I'd prefer to run a double regardless. the idea of a plastic tensioner just seems retarded.
I've been told from a few people that 105's with modded retainers on a stock chain with an XP or S1X will be just fine..
you run a stock rain for 105's and less. over that you run a double roller.
Up to you which springs to run.
I'll never run a double roller again after what I had happen. Paying that much money for a chain, then having to pay extra to have a machine shop redo the chamfer is BS IMO.
To each his own.
Im going with the s1x with the 105's when i get time.
