With the new exhaust, Plog,DP,Borlas car seems to build boost much faster.
That normal? I figured its because air has alot better flow now. Just curious

^^^ actually, a more open exhaust should flow better , so at the same rpm, with the exhaust the only difference the boost should be lower, remember that boost is the difference between what your engine flows out and what your m90 flows in

Now that said, the car should be revving faster, which I think is what your seeing

that does sound logical too but.....more air out the more air you can get in??? hence making boost faster?? i dont know but its just logical to me??? i dont see full boost untill high rpms, usally 4500 and above with my stock exhaust....something to think about

    Sorry, Ill re-word

M90 does not compress, it pushes air,
So, when your M90 pushes out more air than heads and exhaust can flow out it creates boost.

if the exhaust flows better there should be less boost at the same RPM and load....

but I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time

    Technically here.....

If you open up the exhaust more, then it will bleed off boost. The reason being is the engine is now capable of ingesting more air because you've reduced backpressure in the exhaust side.

see. something new learned so if i have full exhaust and was safly getting away with a 3.4 pulley before. with full exhaust do you think it would be safe to now drop to a 3.2??

I love the Borlas. I don't have a resonator so it is loud and I get a slight drone @2500 RPMS. The Idle is mean sounding and when WOT the charger is screamin alot louder. As far as boost goes I'm going by the DIC. Seems like it is showing boost more now than before (could be that I can't keep foot out of it) Idk lol. And I thought something was wrong with the engine then realized the Wizair is alot louder too. All in all it was a great improvement overall.

yeah it's kinda hard to say just by the question......I mean it's possible if under the right conditions and mods....anything lower than a 3.4 is cam, headers and/or intercooler teritory...from my experience it would still be cutting it pretty close running a 3.4 with headers,1.9 rockers and other normal supporting mods like fwi ect and be kr free...well you'd have to have a good tune 4 sure.

I mean with all the mods i have i am only runnin a 3.2...now i could probably drop to a 2.8 with my same mods as long as the tuning was there...and full exhaust would help to a point

Depends on how much boost. For the same boost as you make with the M90, no. The intake charge produced by a turbo is cooler than the intake charge produced by the rotors of a roots blower. That's why they can reacher higher PSI levels with less knock.

Not to mention a turbo has less parasitic loss, so it results in more net power.

I've got the Borla Catback on my GTP and it sounds REAL nice in my opinion... louder for sure, but nice and deep and not at ALL like the typical ricer that gets a fart-can and makes his/her car sound obnoxiously loud. i'll try to get a video up and rev it a little bit so you can hear it, just bear in mind that a digital camera doesn't get the best effect, LoL.
