meth.

Both end up doing the same thing: cooling the air temps and giving you more power. Meth is cheaper but you can run out and damage the motor. An intercooler will pretty much be worry free. Both are good proven ways to more power.
How would a intercooler do on a car with a 3.4 pulley? I could go down one more step to 3.3 but wouldnt be much diff in boost though. Stock tranny with shift kit. Dont want to have to replace it.
PRJ I/C core >>>>>>>>>>>>> all others.
I/C pump can fail and then you're also done there as well.
Cam is another good idea that enables running a smaller pulley (see going faster) yet can't break (unless you count the timing tensioner which can break anyways).
I/C would let you run a 3.2-3 pulley.
Yea thats the only prob I have with the intercooler is that pump can fail at anytime. I would like to do cam. But I never doen one and dont really want to pay a shop to do cuz that will kill me. Then I also dont have a tuner to tune the car after the cam. I'm having reptile tune my pcm.
with anything past a 3.4 setup you basically NEED a custom tune.
I am still working on this but between school work and trying to get my car running all together, its going to be a little while longer.
Yea it would be cool to see someone make a fmic setup for our cars. I think it would be awsome. Some people hate on the idea of the front mount and I think it would be just as good and no parts to fail. I mean the pain would be running intercooler pipe. But they use this style on turbos and do great. Have you found out a way to deal with the maf? I mean this setup shouldnt be that hard to do. Look at the thunderbird sc it has a front mount and just use there design and research there setup. Their maf is in the intake tube. They have that small plate style maf and couldnt we switch ours to the intake tube and use a maf from a diff car? Or would you be able to get the maf in the pipe some how?
I know your busy though minnichopper with all the intercooler cores you make. But people need to realize that your only one person and you have a life, family, and job.
But I would I like to see this when your done with it.
I also have this from another air to air intercooler for supercharger. But itd for a m62 model.
There is a myth that superchargers can't use Air-to-Air intercoolers since they can't offset pressure loses due to piping and intercooler volume. Superchargers have the advantage of providing boost "right now" and increasing boost as the RPMs increase. Pressure drop associated with intercoolers is a concern, but the substantial cooling benefit of an Air-to-Air intercooler offsets any losses in boost levels by allowing your supercharger to work more efficiently. With cooler, denser intake air, timing retarding is reduced, producing more horsepower. Since superchargers can produce temperatures upward of 300° F, efficient cooling is critical to ensure maximum performance. Some of the benefits of using an Air-to-Air intercooler are:
Cooler air reduces chances of detonation
More timing (less retard) can be added, producing more horsepower
More boost can be safely added
No measurable lag because superchargers produce boost instantly
Typical efficiency about 80-85%†, twice the efficiency of typical W/A systems
No maintenance compared to W/A intercoolers
Simpler installation
† Efficiency based on (Air exiting the compressor minus air exiting the intercooler) divided by (Air exiting the compressor minus ambient air). Example of Air-to-Air: 300F - 115F / 300F - 80F = .84 = 84% efficiency. Example of W/A: 250F - 180F / 250F - 80F = .41 = 41% efficiency

cool.
could have sworn the green tops in korey's car were estimated to be 38's once prj got the idle fixed.
I'll have to look into the larger injectors. Do I need a larger pump or could the stock one handle the increase? I know I would need it tuned for them as well. Why dont more people go to a bigger injector and drop pulley?
Also will either one of those injectors just drop right in or do I need some stuff to get them to work?
stock one can deal.
You're not making enough power to need a new fuel pump.
Most people dont have the mods to drop to the point where you need injectors.
Ok I'm kinda lost then...I know when you get down to like what a 3.0 pulley you'll need larger injectors?
But from what I read it sounded like I could have the mods I have in my sig and throw in some 42.5's and drop to say a 3.3 or 3.25 pulley or am I wrong for thinking that?![]()
Ok gotcha. Just need to have good flow mods. Intercoolers are the best thing to keep knock down. But I keep thinking of doing a cam for my car. I have half the stuff to do a rocker install. I know about tuning the cam and I'm having reptile tune for me and rockers are easier install. But I have people to help with the cam install. Whats the big diff between the two and whats better?
cam is better than rockers in all ways cept cost and install time/difficulty.
I know I had a thread on cam choices and ended up going with rockers. But the cam idea keeps popping in my head. The cam gives power increase thru out the rpm and the rockers are up top pretty much. Cam would be awsome to do. But the two downfalls I have is tuning after install and can stock tranny handle it?
