thats when pinks is going to be there?? i might just go for that. and yea, i dont remember who said it but im quite sure it was my injectors. i did not pull the valve covers off but they are not vibrating like they are getting hit and my bro said that is not the sound of rockers hitting. plus the more i listened it sounds like its comming from the injectors. so who ever said that good call!!! is there any recemondations for cleaning them effectivly. im running fuel injector cleaner therew them right now but if that is not enough do i need to pull them off and clean them with something??

Effectivly?? Well you would have to take them out of the car and bring them somewhere that does fuel injector cleaning.Sorry dont know of a place right off the top of my head.

As far as the noise goes...That is normal. I have never personally heard of them ticking because they were dirty. And being that your car is an 04+ it would be verry verry unlikely that that would be the case.

Anyways, glad you didn't have to do any tearing down of the engine and was able to troubleshoot the problem first.

    GOOD JOB

As for a comment on your ticking problem, everyone has basically covered the possibilities. You won't know until you tear into it. And if you have any mechanical skills, you should be able to replace the heads yourself. Pick up a Haynes repair manual at you local auto parts store. It has alot of useful info that can pretty much help you with anything you need. And if you need more, you know you have us here to help also.

Ya know I would love to go but i only work only on the weekends and not during the week.

So i guess i'm out, I work during the day so if we can maybe we could get together one night and go to silver dollar race track or if that is to far we could all meet at a closer track or somethin.I'll add the 2 of you to my friends and keep in touch and maybe plan somethin one day.later

okay thanks. is it normal for one injector to be louder than the others?? one side is kinda loud, well more like just one injector while the others are pretty unnoticable.

Now that you are talking about fuel injectors, I didn't think of ot before, but on my 05 Ram, i got a loud ticking sound. More when it's cold than hot. It didn't start to do it until I put quite a few miles on the truck. I took it to one dealers because of the warrenty) and they told me there was no problems just the sound of the injectors. I didn't know what to think. Never heard of that before. So I went to another dealer and they explained it a little more. They told me that bigger injectors had been used and after they so called got broke in, I was hearing the injectors go through their cycles. They some vehicles injectors make noise and some don't. And some take longer to do it than others. I wouldn't say for deffinate that is your problem, but something to think about. Does it seem to hurt your performance any? I would also call a local dealer and see if that was a possibility or if there have been any injector problems. Just an idea.

IF you are able to make it to the strip on may 10, leave me something in my PM and we can figure it out from there.

I've removed my heads before. Yeah, they're just bolted on, but you have to remove a lot of stuff to get to them. Couple that with the price of new gaskets, head bolts, rocker bolts, and the time it takes to do all of this and clean the head surface for a good gasket seal (very important!), it adds up very easily.

If you go to the effort of removing the head, get them ported or at the least have a shop mill them down a few thousandths. I'm regretting not having done that when I could have.

no the injectors dont seem to hurt performance at all. just the dang ticking noise and yea i was looking at it, thats alot of stuff to pull off for the heads. some nice ported heads would be nice tho idk i guess just something to think about.
