well there you go, now you have a good answer that you researched on your own and came to a good conclusion.

I had a set of shorty mild steel headers for my Chevy Tahoe that I had sent out to Jet-Hot for coating.
- It did not insulate any better, anything that touched them still got destroyed.
- There was no discernible difference in engine compartment temperature.
- It concealed the rust that was occurring so that by the time you noticed the rust showing it was already too late.
- It set me back $300 for the headers + $120 for the coating + my labor to remove, ship, reinstall.
If I had to do it again, I'd get stainless steel headers and never look back.
Just my .02, even though it seems like you have a couple bucks already.
