Thanks everyone for your posts and help. How come no one likes the thrasher cam? I heard it was a pretty good cam and is the xp cam and the s1x one more mild then the thrasher or the same
NIC cam.... sounds awesome
the thrasher cam, for how big it is it doesnt make power. i ran it. it was an amazing sounding cam and the powerband was way up top where youd want it, but for the same price or less you can run a cam that will make more power. the thrasher cam would be best off with a set of ported heads, but if youre going that far you might as well look into an IS3 from intense.
the s1x and xp can both be run on stock heads with upgrade valve springs. the xp has a higher powerband than the s1x and seems to make more power generally in comparison, but the s1x has been proven time and time again to run better times at the track and be a better cam for the street.
if you want to stay on stock heads and stock valve springs then look at the vs cam. it makes good power and the mid range on it is amazing.
if you never plan on intercooling, the NIC cam that matt suggested is a good choice. it bleeds off lots of boost so you can run small pulleys with it. people have run 12s with the cam and headers with an appropriately sized pulley.
