I'm not sure about the lucas ones, but I've got the Bosch green top (lightning) injectors. Don't have a problem with them at all.

if they plug and play, I'd run them. if you don't like them you can always sell them.

A lot of people run the Lucas w/o any problems. You should be fine. I was going to go with those, but got a deal on the Lightning injectors.

aren't the lucas ones affliated with GM in some way? I thought I read that somewhere.

I remember someone saying one of them had a better spray pattern for the 3800 and i think it was the lucas. I know they have both been run with sucess. And i would go with whichever you can find cheaper. Over on lightning board you can get them for pretty cheap with lower miles.

I heard the same thing about the Lucas. I am currently running 39# Cobra injectors which are made similar to the lightning 42.5s. They have been fine. I've heard our cars prefer a pencil pattern spray because it has further to travel than in Fords. Both the 39# and 42.5# are cone patterns. This is good for dispersal if your injector is further down the runner.

All that being said, I've never found anyone who had any hard data to support that one runs better in our cars than the other. The other thing I've heard is that the Lucas 42.5s are easier to tune at lower rpms than the motron 60s but I know that's not what you asked.

I think the best advice has been given. Go with which ever one you can get the best deal on. You'll be OK.

42.5's are great but you gotta have a way to tune the PCM for them, Powertuner, HPT or at least an AFC.

Without a way to compensate for the extra fuel your car will run like crap.

please don't forget to have the IFR table tuned in your PCM, your car will run RICH without that done. I have had them for about 3 years and they are running great....about to have them cleaned and flow tested. Hopefully they can spray enough fuel for me to run 11's.

well they are good into the low 12's. my ipw's are around 18 ms at 6300rpm. They are close to being done. Hopefully they can be good for 11s we'll see though.

FWIW, The Cobras can run deep in 11's on their stock 42.5 injectors. Might not have much value here, but I just thought I'd put that in.

That's because they have 8 cylinders. They need to make less power per cylinder to get the same performance.

That's why the 4cyl turbo guys need HUGE injectors to make good power.
