I'm gonna have to agree with everyone on this. You were running a setup that is pretty damn uncommon. I don't give a **** what intense that they were giving you. Every car is different and considering the money you invested in it and they crazy setup . I would have went straight to the most experienced guy with a dyno and got that thing tuned. It's amazing how much more power you can make just with a guy that know what he is doing. Sorry to hear about your loss, throw a new bottom end in it, and maybe some diamonds and call it a day. BTW when you get it fixed and tuned get a wideband and video tape the run for us good luck!
There is no replacement for displacement........unless you have a supercharger or turbo

2000 Bright Red GTP Coupe GXP axle back, GMPP sway bar, NGK TR6, 180 stat. (Uninstalled Aeroforce Interceptor, DHP PCM, FWI, Gen V on the way) and still no pulley in sight.

Well at the time, Tucson, AZ had no experienced dyno techs, the guy i took it to didn't have a dyno. The only shop that had a dyno, i would let touch my car with a 10' pole. but now i am in phoenix and know of a good shop that can do that. The only problem is the car is still in Tucson.

I wonder if the knock sensor picked that up.
Usually #1 will go first most the time. I see that #1 already has a chipped piston too. But I have seen my fair share of #3's put windows in the sides of blocks. Best one was when it went, and took out the pan and the starter when that rod was thrown.
I would say your used block, and a few parts are still of value...to me.

All tunes should be done for the exact engine its connected to. Off the shelf tunes are great for mildly modified cars. ZZP, and Intense PCMs...uh...no. I would stick with a DHP, and I have heard good things about overkills PCMs.
Sucks man. I would order another engine from ED, and swap your parts on over to the new engine, and tune and drive till the next one goes. Hopefully not for some time.

    Awsome pick, love the idea.

Thanks for all the advice guys, but it will be some time before I have the money to fix the car to racing. Most likely I am going to make it a little above stock and just build a racing motor.

The coffee table is not an original idea, there have been V8 blocks made like that for years before I made this one.

    Powder coated.

The block, and rods are all steel, cant polish steel with out making it rust later. Since this is a inside table, and sitting on carpet...powder coating was the way to go.

The bolts that hold the rods to the block were chrome plated though. Up close you can see them, cant really tell from that picture.

However, one good piston, and one good rod from that blown engine also got used, these were original ideas...just took some modifying to make it work.

Took a used stock L67 (3.8L supercharged V6) piston, and machined a good chunk of the material needing removed out with an end mill, then used a boring head to give it a nice even circumference to the correct width.

Made me a aluminum piston coaster/drink holder.

    The rod...

Piston rod I had left over from the piston coaster. Made some billet aluminum inserts, top and bottom for the rod.

Top billet insert was made to match the bottom, and make the front look nice. The rod was drilled, tapped, and a end mill ran across it to make a flat spot for the hollow spacer. The bottom insert is machined from a solid piece of aluminum, and threaded.

I now have a piston rod door handle for my new garage cooler I got for free from one of my stores I service. I'll put more pictures of it up of it when its totally finished.

Dare I even show you what I have been making out of old used stock 3800 cam shafts.

    Sorry for the thread hi-jack.
