I'm looking at getting some new MSD Spark Plug Wires for my 2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp G. Does anyone have them and know what part # wires you got? I've found 2 different part number so far.

    Custom Fit Wires #32789
    Universal Fit Wires #31179

They are both around the same price, usually around $70 +/- $5. I'm pretty sure I should be getting the #32789s but I just wanted to ask if anyone has them and knows that Part Number they have installed.

Also, if anyone has reviews (good or bad) for these wires please speak your mind. I'd like to get a good idea if I should get these wires or not.

I'm gonna list what I have for the vehicle, I'm not looking for feelings about what I have on the vehicle already, I don't care if you don't like K&N or ACDelco Stock Spark Plugs. It's what I have, it's what I'm keeping because they last long, are dependable and my car is a Daily Drive Car, not some racing car. Example: Jan 2009 - Jan 2010 = 18,436 miles.

Car Specifics: 2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp G, K&N Air Intake, ACDelco 41-101 Spark Plugs, Stock Coils & Currently Stock Wires. Current Mileage about 76,000.

From what I can tell, all parts for the car are original stock parts, so Wires, Spark Plugs & Coils have 76K miles on them. I'm going to replace the spark plugs with new ACDelco 41-101s because they last a damn long time and work well for my situation, at the same time I want to replace the spark plug wires, but figured adding better wires would help some even without changing the type of spark plugs.

Well, since I'm going to replace the spark plugs, new wires should be bought at the same time, especially since these wires are old and may get damaged while removing them to take the plugs out. So I'm going to have the new MSD Wires on hand for installation. Saves me from having new spark plugs, but damaged old wires. A quick search online says stock wires are around $50, so why not spend $20 more for better performing and better looking wires?

I like my MDS wires they're nice and thick and not like the stock ones. I've had them for around a year and they are still practicly brand new and I drive alot (around 40 miles a day.)

my stock ones have 100k on them............

and you can get the stock ones from the parts store with a life time warrenty, i take a knife to them just to get new ones.

if you want the cool look, yea okay. but there is not a real need for them

I'm going to wait to replace mine till around 80-100k, probably closer to 80K. My mechanic, along with the dealership mechanics, say that spark plugs and wires should be replaced around 100k. I bought the car used with about 53K on it, and I have no idea how the original buyer drove the car, where it was driven or under what conditions. The car was bought at a dealership as a certified used vehicle.

You buy them once...you'll never have to buy them again. Buy some Autolite 606's and get the MSD Wires or PRJ Wires...you'll never have to buy wires again and you get the better spark and protection with those.

i have prj's. the stock ones clip on better. better connection, better spark.

with an amp set up and speakers, you can run a little wire from the amp and get the same power to the speakers as you can with large wire. so the size does not really matter.

like said, i have both, and the stock ones clip on better, they seem to work better for me. and you can get a lifetime warrenty with the stock wires, so you will never have to buy them again either......

but its up to you, if you feel like spending the cash, cool. but there is nothing wrong with the stock ones.

I've had my MSD's off a bunch of times...since I can't keep a motor in my car and they haven't failed me yet, I love em. Everyone that I know that has had Taylor wires has always had a bunch of problems.

I'm not talking about durability, I'm talking about internal quality and performance. MSD wires are made for marketing, not for spark performance.

I will second this comment. I went for the cool factor of having red wires. They failed! I started having a miss after about a year of having them. Wire went bad. Went back to stockers with a lifetime warranty. No problems ever since.
