Question (probably stupid). The portion of the DP, where the CAT converter is supposed to go, is that piece of pipe just slipped in? or did you weld it? looks like there about 3" of coverage on either end that might keep is secure. And if I were to install a CAT, could it be slipped in? looking at 3" CATs online.
Thanks
I don't see why you couldn't put a slip fit 3" converter in there...then have it welded or clamp it.
why in gods name do you want a 3" cat?
Some people ARE tree huggers?
The downpipe is 3" so thats what fits...
That or its easier to just put the cat on and leave it there rather than worry about a $1000 fine and having to put one back on every two years for an e-test.
In Ontario, there are people who drive around and inspect cars they suspect of having missing pieces like a cat or EGR valve. They do hand out tickets that are valid as the law does state removing emissions equipment is illegal.

Exactly!, why battle with modding a 2.5, or whatever, size inverter when a 3" will probably just slide right in.
Thanks guys.
no emission testing where i live :)
here's a fitting question amidst the topic: is a high flow cat beneficial over the stock one?
Over stock...yes. Will it net you any more gains? No. Will it sound louder than stock? Yes...you won't notice it though because you just put headers on your car...that'll make it sound much better anywho ;) BTW...when are you buying them so we can put them on :D
Unless your car wants to run the cat diagnostic or your state laws means you have to have one.
i ran a 2.5" high flow cat on my car if that makes any difference to anyone. id reduce it before the cat to keep the volume down.
ZR1Vette09 Keep me updated if you purchase a CAT..I have to look for one aswell if I plan on getting this set-up, which will most likely happen.
What cop has ever looked for a catalyst system on a car? Lower your car and they can't see under it ;-P. I live in MO and I figure I've got 2 years to worry about it.
i wouldn't mind it being a little louder, especially since i'm doing no exhaust work for sound. Guess i'll just go ahead with the cat too... Collosus i'm not buying anything for another month. Waiting for the weather to warm up.
Man...then you need to bring that 'Bird to some of the local KCPMC meets...check out the site man...
