i have a 1998 gtp i plan on doing all the maintence first.
i plan on getting, ubend delete, fwi, used headers, pp lim-sc, roller rockers, will tune. 3.4 pullie. will this be alot more fun to drive over stock, reliability and road manners are important to me as its my dd

then mabey a tranny upgrade to get 329 or 369 gears but it seems so expensive, would i see good gains?
then a used stage 2 intercooler.
    thanks
    eddy

do u do high ratio rocker with roller rockers, or is it one or the other?
    i am thinking 1.8 or 1.9

no you can do high ratio roller rockers. personally i recemend rollers. but go to high and your gonna need valve springs also. i think its past 1.84 and you need the springs.

you can put a gt transmission is your car, they have the 3.29 gears, or you can pull your trans apart and make the change.

stock, to a 3.4 set up, yea its gonna be a big difference. it will still be very dd.

swapping a gt transmission seems like a cheaper alternative then rebuilding mine. i don't plan on going to the track so i probubly don't need a fully built tranny.

what year gt tranny will fit my 1998 gtp, is it a straight forward swap?

where would be the best place to find a gt tranny, ball park price?and swap price?

would i see good gains from the swap?

to pull the trans out to do the gear swap and put it back in is gonna be the pricey part. an install and removel in this case could get expensive.

I've sent you like 9,000 PM's about this stuff man...I've covered cam setups, different blowers and pulley sizes...meth and IC...what more do you want?

Cons to rockers? None...unless you install them wrong.

rockers gave the top end some pull. with rollers it felt like it picked up power all over the powerband (reved easier)

would compliment and existing set up if you did not want to go cam'ed

why the **** would you want a gt tranny? Its not gonna last, no HD diff...it blows dick.

if you want a cheap gt tranny to use the 3.29 gears and don't mind driving to NJ let me know, i can sell you the full trans for $80.00, it has 134,000 on it, in good condition only thing wrong is it has no 4th clutch.

1.9 yella terra rollers here, they're awesome

p.s install on a trans at a local shop goes for somewhere around the 1k mark

that's not what i said. I have 3.29's in my tep tranny. I'm just saying the gt trans is sloppy, ask me how i know. The only thing going for it is the 3.29's. Before my first post, no one mentioned anything about going a gear/diff swap from the 65-HD.

so its sloppy because it does not have the hd diff????

blue has blown like 5 motors, does that mean that these motors suck???? some people are just better at breaking things than other.

you came in and said why the **** would you want a gt trans, they blow dick. you said nobody mentioned doing a diff swap before you posted (im guessing that would make the gt trans good in your book) yet you gave no reason as to why the gt trans sucks.

i guess anybody who makes any kind of real power should just get a TEP right? cause all these stock trans blow dick.

atleast have some valid points for bashing on it...........

Make it sound like the diff is going to explode. There's top swapped GT's still running the stock transmission. Hell know of one prior to a recent L32/TEP trans build ran a 2.8 on a stock GT trans.

My L67 swapped SE runs a stock non HD trans as well... I understand giving info, but false info? Meh... 1K for a gear chain?!?!?! Where are you getting this nonsense? I had my trans fully rebuild for 1k. Madness

P.S. My GTP is running a rebuilt 2001 GT transmission

An HD and nonHD trans are identical inside and out. GT has a better 3.29 gear set and torque converter, while the GTP has a **** converter, crap gearing, and a larger diff. I vote GT trans. Diff swap isn't a necessity, but if you're that worried, it's a 30 minute job. A lot easier than swapping the gear chain and converter
