Lol really now... Hmm trust someone who has been working with heads and specializes in them for many years... Or trust myself for a very expensive build on something very important that I have never done before?

hes pretty much saying watch them do it and learn a thing or two and maybe you could start doing your own.......

or you could sit around, never try and learn anything, and always pay other people to do things for you.......

I don't I do all my own work, I wouldn't trust myself working on the heads of my own car for the first time.

well you sound like a do it yourself'er. heads are not that complicated, if you go to the shop and learn and they show you what to do and you flow bench it and see positive gains, what is the big issuie with that??????????

its not rocket science, but at the same time, if you dont know what your doing you could hack some heads up, but that is the point of going to the shop and learning from the guys that know what there doing

^^^that was my point i was trying to make.someone , somewhere can show u or teach u. yes a big time professional can can get even more results:i.e. access to flow bench. any DIY'er can portmatch the gaskets to about 1" or so inside the ports. also polish/slick as owl sh!t, the runners. under the valves is critical, even i get advice on this. 3or 5 angle valve job., better valves. do it atleast 1 time, some can doit others can't. Me , i and have screwed up some aluminum heads before(easy to repair)..so, go get 'em

i practiced valve jobs on my cracked heads
it takes a certain feel to do it right i tore up the left head and made the right head look sexy

Ive also seen a few hack jobs on full port work I need to find some heads to practice on

that's how u do it.^^^^now i've never lapped the valves in except for on a lawn mower. i have not set up the spring heights either. but the port match and cleaning uder the valves, yes... i will be more involved in this head rebuild of mine.
