If you even CONSIDER going by the stock gauge...your off your meds.
does the stock gauge actually read boost? reason i ask is the vacume line under the sc snout came out... my factory boost gauge was reading boost but my scangauge wasnt registering anything.
Or...GM could have just been smart from day one and put an actual gauge in the dash...like Ford, or Mitsubishi, or Nissan. I mean...they had one in 1986...was it that hard to do it again 11 years later?
^^ I was joking there. I agree that the stock gauge is no means of measuring boost. However, it can still be used as a way of detecting the presence of boost, but the levels are unknown. Kinda like if you have a ford f150 and it has the oil pressure gauge that has L and H. Who knows what the oil pressure is as far as psi. All you know is that its detecting oil pressure and supposedly within operating range. That's how I'm referencing my stock boost gauge. My stock gauge says i'm getting some boost. Don't know how much, but my Autometer still sits on the left side of the 0 box.
