so i had a really bad squeak. ended up being the belt i took it off and no more sound. but i noticed i can spin the s/c pully with my hand while the car is off or on. is this normal or should i order a coupler aswell?

you should be able to spin the pulley. check your idlers and the tensioner.

yea i put a new belt on and the squeal/chunk noise came back. my tensioner i spun when i was putting the new belt on and it kinda sounded like the bearings were going out in it. i put my hear to the snout of the s/c and i couldnt hear the noise. so maybe its not the coupler. should i try replacing the tensioner next?

actually just took the belt off again and checked and i think its the idle pully thats bad. it sounds like a bunch of rocks in a tin can when i spin it. so back to the parts store i go.
