X2 on LIM gasket.
And the recall was for the valve covers, not the head gasket.
So change your LIM if you have never done so.

LIM would cause an oil leak on top of the motor? i know its not the head gasket, but wouldnt think it was the LIM either, so i figured the valve cover gaskets... dunno
like i said ill get some pics right after work... also be able to make sure it IS oil on the top since the engine will be cold :P
yes valve cover gasket recall done, typo... my bad
I would venture to say it is just dirty coolant which will look and feel a lot like oil.
But it could also be oil residue left over from the leaky valve covers, or from when the dealership changed the valve covers. I don't know if they leaked before or how clean it was when it came back. But could be a possibility.
I still lean towards a bad LIM gasket since damn near every L67 needs/needed them changed.
ya i know the LIM will need to be changed, also need a 180* thermo and the go green *antifreeze* conversion but i was going to wait til it wasnt freezing outside to have to pull the SC and all that jazz...
i clean the motor regularly while cleaning the car and the leaky fluids just showed up recently, within the past month as that was the last time i washed the motor, and the recall was done about 12k miles ago
