K guys so I just had the, LIM, TB, SC gasket, Fuel pump, Crankshaft Positioning Sensor replaced and did a tune up (plugs, wires, new gas, injector cleaner, air filter, coolant flush and fill)

Now the car is not stuttering as bad as it was before this but still stutters when I punch it....If I gradually accelerate its fine its only when I punch it

This all seemed to start after I had my down pipe replaced and a hole in the exhaust fixed so Im not sure if it has anything to do with that

    Any ideas guys???

Just had the same issue the other day and it was a plug wire, so I would say since you already replace them its probably like blue said coils or ICM

in ur hayne s or chilton manual, it'll tell u how to check the resistance in the primary and secondary side of the coil. advance or autozone can check the icm i believe.

Check and make sure the correct plug wire is on the correct coil, and matching plug. Easy to get one crossed if your not paying attention. Follow each wire from the coil, and make sure it goes to the right plug. Many times, people will get them switched on the back, commonly #2 and #4.

You have a mis fire most likely.

Had the same issue with mine a while back and it was a coil bad. A test you can do is, start with unplugging your #1 plug, go for a quick drive, if it gets worse, put that one back on and do the #2. Keep going until you unplug a wire that doesn't change what it's doing. It'll help pin point which plug, wire, or coil is giving you problems. Just remember to keep the wire you unplug away from moving parts and if you unplug from the coil side to try and fing some type of rubber cap to go over it so you don't risk arching.

His car runs fine until he punches it. If he takes loose a plug wire, it's gonna run like crap all the time. This will prove nothing.

Yeah your right. I over thought that one. Been a long day. A weak coil would give him that problem. A bad one would cause it to run like crap even at idle. Thanks for smacking me in the back of the head for that one.LOL!!!!!

GR8racingfool is off on the same path too! lol. I wasn't smacking you in the head , just trying to keep this guy from possibly getting confused.

I'm with bluegtp91 though, prolly a coil or ICM. Coils fixed my rough idle......thanks sean! lol

Yeah, I had a random stalling issue, and that turned out to be my ICM. When I had a coil go, I had the same issue he is having. as long as your easy on the gas and drive normal, it's fine, but, as soon as you hav to merge into traffic or take off a little too hard, she'd stutter her butt off.

I have to comment on this.. My #1 plug wire was loose from some stuff we did with chances car one night and the car ran fine until I had any kind of boost then it fell on its face and would only ever get up to half boost.. Fixed that and shes back up and running.

Mine has been acting like that for more than a year. I've changed all of my coils. Is the ICM what the coils set on? (im a girl) If so, I've had it checked, and it's good. mine dont act up all the time, just whenever. have a new fuel filter and 02 sensor also. now no codes thrown
    good luck 1000PRIX

Mine was kind of doing something like that, one time I opened the hood at night and even though the spark plug wires were new, the heat insulators were jumping a small spark to the manifold and I removed them.

This only happened to me at full throtle and high RPM tho...

Same problem here. Car was running fine but I had an injector lock up, bought a new one to replace it and had them all cleaned and flow checked. Before I narrowed it to the injector ( Code was miss on cyl 6) I replaced the plugs with NGK TR6's gapped at .035, wires with packard wires, and replaced all 3 coils with the Summit coils. It runs fine at part throttle ( up to 3/4 throttle it is a rocket ) but full throttle it feels like it is stuttering. I am not sure if it is ignition or fuel, no codes. Oh, and the car is a 1997 GTP 2 door. Mods are SLP catback, Thrasher CAI, 160 thermo, aftermarket PCM, 3.4 pulley, ported blower. Everything ran fine until injector problem. I would like to put some headers on next but I need to get this straightened out.

Actually putting those headers on would make your car run safer. Right now you're probably knocking quite a bit.

i put i think msd wires(got them on clearace at advance) long boots. no more glowing ring around plugs...do easy stuff like fuel filter, gotta check for cat operation..new denso(my choice) o2 sensor, make sure u didn't break ceramic around plugs(i have),good wires, check coils, and auto store should be able to check icm.....i think thats it, my head hurts.
