numerous times when I tried to start the car it wouldn't turnover if I tried a few times it would start. Now it has finally not started there is a click in the dash when I turn the key to start. I think it might be the starter not sure. Before I crawl under the car could you tell me starter location and any trouble shooting tips. Thanks

I would say starter then and it probably ruined your battery also.

yeah man its a simple job, but if you dont have a shop to do it, and its cold outside, just whack it with a hammer a couple of times that should get you by for a little bit. Mine lasted for 3 months like that EDIT - never mind you live in friggin hawaii it aint cold there

Not the starter had it tested, not the battery bought a new one. Any more ideas would be appreciated.

if his alternator is bad... battery wont hold charge... ive seen cases where jumping off a car with a bad alternator wasnt enough to turn over, hence why he is hearing a clicking sound.... try a different battery and see what happens... if it starts pull a battery cable and see if it still runs.

Turned out to be the ignition switch. Second time it has failed in the last 12 years. No other problems.
