Let me start this off by saying if this is in the wrong section moderators, please move it to the correct location.

Ok, so i have ZZP Headers and noticed a problem with the install that they claim to have resolved(which wasnt). Im sure evetyone else has noticed this problem when they have installed ZZP Headers. I wanted to start this thread for people that are wanting to get ZZP Headers and want to know Pros and Cons of them. And how to resolve that issue.

I myself am still dealing with the tranny dipstick touching the crossover section of the rear header. Ive gotten mixed reviews on how to resolve it but am still unsure on what to do.

Ive been suggested to just get the prebent dipstick for headers from ZZP, Ive been told that a Lokar Flexible Transmission Dipstick has been used, Ive been told to take a torch to mine and heat it up and bend it in certain places where it wont hit and also to take it to a place where it can be mandrel bent.

What have all u other people that have encountered this problem done to resolve it? What were the costs? Suggestions from everyone is welcome. All input would be greatly appreciated.

This thread is not just for my help on fixing this, but also for all the people that have them or for the people that are wanting to get them.

Here's a couple pics for all with my headers and the problem that im talking about.

With a few little teasers of the headers installed.

is this the only issue your seeing with ZZP headers so far? i was thinking about em and was wondering how they did as far as sealing up? Any pacesetteritis or anything of that nature or is the trans dipstick your only hangup so far?

"Pacesetteritis" haha. I like that. But no, no other issues other than the dipstick issue. They are very well crafted i must say. Sealing up wasnt an issue at all. But the final outcome will show after its started and if there are any leaks.

SHouldnt need much just mark where it touches and make your bends according to that and go slow not much pressure its free and solves your problem
Or go to harbor frieght and get a cheap bender

Ive marked where it hits. i know the picture doesnt do justice of where i made my marks. Glad there is no fluid inside the tranny yet and just in the Torque Converter so i can pull the dipstick out and start fooling with it.

Whatever you do...be VERY cautious of the 2 spot welds on the lower part of the dipstick for the 10mm bolt bracket. They will break off pretty easy...then say hello to tranny fluid leak if you ever decide to pour some in.

i dought it will kink up if you hand bent it. i just went out playing with mine and its pretty sturdy. not sturdy enought that you cant bend it, but sturdy enought that it wont krink up if you do bend it.

as long as you dont have a loop in it, you should be okay. the dip stick is flexable and can bend thru some curves.

i think its sturdy enough to heat up and bend if you have a little tourch. if anything just heat it a little at a time and see how it reacts then go from there.

This might be why the tranny had a leak before i had it fully rebuilt. definetly goin to inspect it. If so i should be able to weld it right blue?

If so, what kind of metal is it? Aluminum im guessing but not sure

put it in a vise grip if you got one, and dont forget to wear a glove **** might get a little hot.

as far as the bolts if there broken and its aluminum and you cant weld it, you could always use some jb weld.
