As far as I know its a rollmaster from ZZperformance And the box has not been opened as far as I could see.
And I measured it again with the right tools and the rollmaster was 0.0200 mm smaller than the crank and the stock chain hub ( how do I call it ) the one that goes over the crank was 0.0400 bigger
I machined the crank and the rollmaster hub to get the angle right ,because it was not right . Did not got time to install the crank back in the engine and see if the chain runs free from the crank and that it line's up with the cam
Here are some pic's so far.

    bevore

    after

tomorrow i will install it hope it will work .

    They do.

If it was used I wonder if someone sold him a JP gear with a RM chain...as I thought they were different chains. Maybe not, oh well. Never seen a JP in person...just dealt with a few RM doubles, RM singles, and stockers...

Don't feel bad it was just a hangover. I measured my chain and got .9228 from the widest part, the pin holding the links together.

Cool, that needed chamfer is exactly what most others have found. Once you put it back together, I'd expect that the chain won't hit the pump cover.

Dave..bring the set with you to the RI meet and I'll drop it at the machine shop.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Ask an Aussie what our motors are calling over there. I bet it's called an Ecotec. On the non-sc part...you got me as well.

    3.8 Litre (Ecotec) Commodore VS
    Commodore VT
    Commodore VX
    Commodore VY
    Statesman VS
    Statesman WH

Then there is the regular 3.8...
    3.8 Litre Commodore VN
    Commodore VP
    Commodore VR
    Statesman VQ
    Statesman VR

The commodore VT, VX, VY came supercharged so I'm guessing Holdens ecotec 3.8L is meaning supercharged.

There may be no differences between the n/a 3.8l and s/c 3.8l versions, sometimes they mark up prices on that stuff and the n/a version is always cheaper, like head gaskets.

Ok install the crank to see if it all fits and as u can see now i got 2 MM space between the crank and chain ,so much better than bevore

Now i am only concerned about the oil pump cover

as i showed in a pic bevore i narrowed the oil cover by 0.20 MM and not 0.020 MM
hahahahhahahaha and now i understand ,it was inches and not MM

and 0.020 inches is 0.51 MM

Without a gasket it hits the oil cover and i measuted the space it needs and that is 0.40 mm 0.0157 inch

i will take 1 MM 0.0394 inch just to be sure

with a 1 gasket it sits free but i think its to close

here u can see that the chain is not equal from the engine ,but it is like 0.065 mm 0.0256 inches ,I dont think i need to worry about that

I know in Matt (Janices) machining, he'd also end up needing to machine about .01" off the cam gear. Wonder if he was taking the crank gear back a little further. I know that after doing it..there was no need to machine the oil pump cover as it would then fit and clear.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I'm not trying to rub it in or anything but mine fits perfect, first try, even without a single gasket... I checked chain to crank clearance and it looks about like yours AFTER you machined the crank. Just gonna take a touch more off the tops of the two screws in the oil pump cover to play it safe and still probably double gasket it since it won't hurt anything.
