What puller are you using? The shaft shouldn't move since that's the leverage point where the puller is pushing off of

ordinary puller. ive heard from a few its been done. the shaft did not start to move till we started to tap on the back side of the pulley to see if we could break it lose.

but at the same time i was to afraid to keep going with the puller because i did not know if it would break anything. we had it turned pretty hard.

Are you talking Autozone puller? It's risking using those since they damage the pulley shaft. I've used them before but the shaft really took a beating. Also, it's useless when it's time to put the new pulley on

You have to get a specific pulley puller...how long have you been around?

You should have known that you'll damage the blower by using a regular puller.

street wolf said hes done it with a regular puller. but after looking at it, where the arms were grabing on the pulley, it was not pulling it in the correct direction to get the pulley of like it needed to be pulled off.

i agree it does need a backing plate to get even pull all the way around the pulley.

either way, zzp charges the whole price for the tool, then another 40$??? just to loan it out to you that you dont get back plus you have to pay for shiping. i aint paying that. are really i wanted to prove that you dident have to go that route, but i failed this go around :/

its probably a good thing tho. eddie said he would help me get it off with his tool and hes pretty good at tuning so im hoping he will show me some things with that also. so maybe a good thing it worked out like that.

track day is coming up the 21st. gotta get this **** done

i rented it from ZZP since i didnt know anyone with a puller. you only have to use it once since youre putting a MPS on.

A lopcal gm place wanted $200+ to swap pullies, so I tried to use the 3 jaw that did not work. I was going to buy the puller but found a mustang shop that swapped the pullies for $120, So I went that route.

all the more reason i dident want to pay 50$ to use it once and send it back.

im hard headed and well can get free tool rentals from napa (sometimes..) and i figured there had to be away around paying zzp to let me use a tool. i dont have to pay zzp for those, but i do need one designed like theres. i could probably have a guy at a machine shop make me one if i really wanted too. he just made somenoe a pulley the other day. looks like all pullies from now on are gonna be under 5 bucks

I'd rather spend the $50 then damage the blower.

Who does stuff the right way? $50 is a lot cheaper than a couple hundred for a gen v.
