i was wondering who makes the best headers. i heard the pacesetters suck and the non coated ones rust like a mofo. heard slp, togs were the best. what about zzp stainless headers? anyone uses them?

"best" is an opinion. what are you looking for? they all perform pretty much the same, but do you want them to look good? do you want them to install easily? what do you want?
well everyone tells me pacesetters non coated last very shortly, i want stainless or a very good cermanic coated headers i heard zzp stainless is really good....they're all about the same price...slp,zzp,togs
youre forgetting SSAC and S&S. those are also nice sets of headers.
i would argue that S&S are damn near the best set. i ran them and would never buy a different set if i were to get another 3800.
I just installed pacesetters a few days ago, so far I have thrown 4 02 sensor codes, due to where the collector is (dumbest spot ever!) and took a 12 hr install, under the car, laying on rocks.... I spent $100 on exhaust wrap and misc hardware, if i could do it all over again, I would have bit my tongue and bought slp headers.
i would not suggest buying pacesetters because of the moronic collector design and the U shaped downpipe. i would not suggest buying SLP because they have that same I shaped downpipe. i would not suggest buying TOGs because the crossover is clearly the dumbest thing on the planet and i hated the 3 piece design when i had them.
so there you go: choose from SSAC, ZZP, or S&S.
who sells s&s headers
look up their website and check who their distributers are.
they do have smaller primaries and a 2.5" downpipe compared to the 3" exit that the rest of the headers have, but my car always felt very strong with them. i dont think you need big headers unless youre trying to run faster than mid 12s.
are the ssac stainless? i want stainless since they last a longtime
yeah, they are. you really dont need stainless. my headers were ceramic coated and i live in just as bad of conditions as you. they never did anything bad (rust, chip, etc.).
pacesetters having a u-shaped d/p is a myth
i heard the ssac are prone to leaking? is this common for these headers or do they seal up pretty well...nothing like a leaky header
Pacesetters are cheap, as being cheap you have to really deal with getting them to seal correctly. If you plan ahead and read all the posts about how to seal them properly (there are many different ways to do so, welding being one of the favorites) then you'll have no issues.
