Unless you were rough on the wires, I'd doubt it's them. Wires and coils can be tested relatively easy. Lift the hood at night and start the car. Mist the wires/coils and look for the light show. No sparks is a good sign. While it's wet, any sudden changes in running would usually show a wire/coil issue.
Might be time to clean the TB. A little gunk can cause a motorized throttle plate to have issues idling, since likely that's how the IAC function is controlled.
