    wouldnt it trigger a ses light if the maf isnt reading correctly with the screen off? cause when i bought my gtp it didnt have a screen and ive never had a problem. runs real strong.

    Do you just feel that it runs "real strong" or do you have scans to validate that?

    Even if your maf failed there is almost always no SES light.

    The maf screen helps to disperse air evenly before coming in contact with the maf sensor. This gives a fairly accurate reading but when the screen is removed, you lose maybe 1-5% accuracy, if that, hell it may be even less than 1%, no real way of determining the exact amount... This can play with the maf readings and may run a little leaner/richer when you hit different parts of the maf range. Some people take it off, some people leave it on, but it certainly has a purpose on the car...
