LOL i did not know that. see my dad knows his stuff but i rarely get to talk to him except when hes in town and that is when the installing will begin. i appreciate you all giving me insight on this stuff. so if you had your choice would you just go with a cam instead of rockers? does that mean that i would use stock rockers? i know, i know, stupid questions, but hey im trying to understand!

HP doesnt mean anything? i know there are plenty of variables, but isnt it still a good benchmark?

You could get roller rockers with the stock ratio with a cam.

use the stock rockers and run a cam. either way you need to stay within the lift limits of your heads.

with a full out stock heads build you might hit 350whp.

headers vary on brand and how "hard" they are to install. whatever you do stay away from pacesetters imo. i hated them. if you want the easiest install with no big, i think togs or zzp's are the way to go from what ive read.

however, people have been posting good results with these, Pontiac Performance Racing Products for International Sales from SSAutochrome Inc. . slp knock off's, stainless steel, $350 shipped.

wbodystore.com is another site you can check out...

if your doing a cam and headers you can run smaller then a 3.5 WITH TUNING. i would still look into intercooling being one of the first things. dont get a cai, at least not new. most dont see it being worth ~$200. i would get an open cone that fits and run with that. also, canned tunes tend to be frowned upon now, a powrtuner can be had for ~$250, access to the powrtuner site lets you d/l the 1.5 file to get you started, then you can do your own tuning in the future. just my .02

If you got the $$$...Id go with an xp cam, 1.6 roller rockers, fullsize i/c, built trans by dave, 42lb injectors, prj fuel rails, teeny tiny pulley, and a nasty dyno tune. You would need comp oe-r lifters to accommodate for the high rpm shifts (if you want to get the most out of your cam and longetivity of your lifters).

As far as high ratio rockers vs. cam...I have 1.9 yella terra's and im already planning on swapping them out for an xp.
