I have a '95 GP and want to swap in a supercharged 3800 with a 5 speed. Is there anyone who has done this? what kind of modifications need to be done to bolt the buick engine in place of my chevy 3.1?

5 speed? good luck. youll break any transmission you put behind our motor.

otherwise the engine is pretty well a drop and play so long as you have the wiring harness adapters and pcm. you also need different length axles.

Lies. Its been done before successfully. The twincharged cutlass had the getrag 282 its a damn strong tranny. I planned on going with the 5 speed conversion when i get the time and money.

Yea last time I checked(and I could be mistaken)the getrag 282 was tested up to 600hp on all stock parts and was STILL holding up. I've seen fieros with LT1's and the 5speed before. So will the 3800 and 282 both just drop in?(Besides the usual auto to manual parts swap deal) That sounds too good to be true.

pretty sure you need to figure out a way to mate the trans with the engine. i could be mistaken and they might bolt right up though..

Yea, but I see so many fieros with the 3800/282 setup that I figure it can't be too hard. And I read about gm making a test bonneville with the blown 3800 and the 5 speed and it was insane. I just need advice on what axles to use and all that. Also, if there's anyone who can give me a round about number of what getting the blower ported would cost, I'd appreciate it. I'm only planning moderate building to the engine. Smaller pulley for sure on the blower, and maybe a cam. I'm hoping to find some good headers for it too. But this is a daily driver for me so I don't want to take away from too much driveability comfort

That's a pretty cool setup on that olds. I like the suspension mods the most. I want to upgrade the handling as much as reasonably possible. But that's for another thread, isn't it? Haha.

Actually...it is a Cobra MP112 supercharger with the custom nose drive for the 3800 platform. Whipple's have branded their name plate in the side of their blowers.

Plus...it says it on his Car Domain.
