I have a good feeling it's not the motors.. i mean would they both be going at the exact same time? Ok so i changed the Alternator yesterday, The battery is still good.. Now what? i was thinking about re-greasing the tracks or something.. Anyone have any idea what it could be? there's no tint so thats not a problem.. The rubber against the window isn't causing it.. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks guys

How slow are we talking? Like longer then the roll down slow, or like 2 minutes slow?

Mechanical or electrical resistance. Try greasing the tracks first.

this is a common problem with these cars. the windows go down fine, they go up slow. mine do it too.

first things first, open up the switches on your door and clean the contacts on the switch. this should speed them up a little. if not, then it is the motors or regulators.

Hmmm... mine go up as fast as they go down. Could be the master switch, they go out all the time and mine was replaced when i got the car.

That would fall under the electrical resistance portion of my previous post.

Also wouldn't an alt rewire speed things up a bit? or is that only if the vehicle is on?

my passenger side is ungodly slow and I think it is the motor. I had to replace the driver side one last month. My driver side one is fast now and no issues. The passenger side stops sometimes on the way up just an inch or two from the bottom. If it gets past that point, it goes up but pretty slow.... takes 15 secs or so....grease the tracks and clean the contacts on the switch and if it still doesnt help, then I would guess it is the regs/motors...fwiw

Hello, what is the best way to clean the switch. Electric cleaner spray on the connector? I just replaced the regulator in my daughters car and it rolls up very slowly. I need to try lubing the side tracks and I am wondering if it might be the switch as well. 1998 Grand Prix
