I was thinking about getting a ported blower and TB to go with the pulley. I do have a scan gauge and am running 0* KR throughout the whole powerband so I'm good to try out a pulley of some sort. Figured get the happy knob and AFC to go with them to get a little more out of the car. Guess I'll need a WB to if I'm going to mess with the fuel ratios.
Nope...I'll just up the boost. A little birdy told me that with ARP studs the stock heads and gaskets can handle up to 24lbs of boost without failing providing you are KR free...
...the 12.0 run was at about 15 lbs because of the water leak...should have been about 18-19...
did not say it was the best bang for the buck, but at the 3.4 set up and you want to go farther with out a cam, pretty much intercooler or methenal, and we know which one is cheaper. you used to swear by it....
maybe he changed his mind lol
The GP that runs 8's is on a stock bottom end but I don't like replacing engines so no, it's not stock. Diamond pistons .010 over with coated skirts, Clevite bearings and ARP studs throughout and then balanced and a Double roller timing chain. Basically the only thing stock on this engine between the tip of the filter and the tip of the tailpipe (other than things like alternator, water pump, PS pump, etc) are the connecting rods, rockers, and the crank.
Are they still the stock tip rockers? I was going to run 1.6 rollers with my build but I won't have enough money...![]()
just at idle i could tell a noticable diff in valve train noise. the stock rockers kinda had that tap to them, and thats at idle, imagine at 6k.
and bio, compared to the other options to make it further in moding at that stage, i would say methenial is a pretty good bang for the buck.
