ok i wanna build a 3in exaust from the downpipe back....i'm planning on ditching the cats but does it need the resonator? how should i go about doing it? i was thinking a y pipe off of the downpipe and having dual exhaust all the way back instead of just before the gas tank...good idea or bad? any suggestions, pointers etc...lemme know

There is really no room for true duals under the car, and its gonna sound crappy anyway.

You do want a resonator, as it elminates ALOT of rasp in the exhuast, the bigger, the better.

When you get back to the bends, get some 3" mandrel bent pipes for them.

After its all said and done, you don't need 3" exhuast on a gp unless your pushing past 400whp. 2.5" will do just fine.

get headers, make the downpipe the same size as the header collector, and at some point make the step down to 2.5" and run whatever else you want behind it (resonator, mufflers, glasspacks, etc).

there is NO reason to run 3" unless you have a turbo car. it will just be loud and youll gain no power. true dual is...well it's stupid. it is nearly impossible to run the piping and youll also gain no sound or performance from doing it. keep the exhaust similar to how it is now.
