It was my understanding that during the shift, there is shock, that was absorbed by the upper mounts by moving. Since they can't move, more shock.

I just did this today, it was easy and the difference is noticeable. Thumbs up!!

i know this thread is kinda old but this is the only thread i could find and i didnt want to start a new thread just for one question,
im thinking about to do this but i started to think, i dont have a 3800 and i was wondering if it was only for the 3.8's because there 90degrees and also if it was even worth the time to do this on my 60degree, i plan on lowering my car in the fall and i firgured it cant hurt, just wanted to know if anybody as heard or done this on a 3.1 or a 3.4,

If you have mounts like that...in any car...I'd do it. Less movement = less stress on the lower mounts.
I did it in my buddy's 3500 Impala and he says it feels way more solid.

did mine a few days ago...and i don't feel any difference, but i'm sure it's better for the lower mounts (which is the main reason i did it)

I did mine awhile ago and did not really notice too much of a difference. But I can tell it did make a difference when I had my brother start the car. I noticed very little movement compared to the stock set up.

It really is true.
Less movement is better in any application...including a 50 horsepower Metro.

did this sunday well it was 95degrees outside, and ive drove it around the past couple days and haven't noticed anything different, yet, i haven't ran it to hard, so idk if its any different under heavy ACC. but we'll see

Maybe the 'ol 3.1 doesn't make enough power to move the factory mounts?

Did you WD-40 the sin out of them? I've had a few tear but they still flipped just fine.
