So i'm almost done with getting all the mods on my 01 gtp, the only two things left (and probably the most important) are a 3.5 pulley and i'm ordering a overkill pcm. so far i have a 3'' catted dp w/ u-bend delete, ceramic coated crossover and plog, 180 t-stat, msd wires and al 605's, cai and i must say that i really don't think the car feels any quicker, i'm hoping the tune and pulley will change that. how much boost will the 3.5 make and what is the difference in feel for the 3.5 in comparison to the 3.8, worth it? I plan to get it on a dyno when everything is done, but any guess what kind of hp and tq numbers it will put down?
I appreciate all the advice everyone has given me, i'd be lost without gp forums.

You're probably fine to put the 3.5" on but I would install both the pulley and PCM at once. You will run from about 6-8psi to about 8-10psi depending on weather, your car, etc...A pulley swap is always worth it. You make more boost BUT in order for it to work RIGHT you have to have supporting mods. Honestly if I were you I'd get a ported TB and blower next, then get some Autolite 104's...and just wondering how you didnt notice anything from a CAI, DP, and U-Bend Del...jesus I noticed SO MUCH difference with my downpipe...

I'd say somewhere in the neighborhood of 200-220fwhp and 250-275 ft. lbs. torque...just my 2cents worth...as you still have to factor in a drivetrain loss...

more exhaust mods would help you in the long run (headers), but that is only if you plan on continually modding like the rest of us.

200 - 220 fwhp, that seems kind of low to me.

Why is that? Most bone stock GTP's throw down somewhere in the neighborhood of 190-200 FWHP...every car is different and you only have a DP, Plugs/Wires, CAI, and T-Stat...so MAYBE 15hp to the wheels...MAYBE...you gotta figure they are rated from the factory at 240hp and 280ft.lbs. of torque...then you gotta factor you drivetrain loss and if you have bad mounts or transmission parts then you are losing even more power...since you can't transfer it to the ground consistently...just my thought though...take it to a dyno and see...

I'm just saying the car feels so quick and 200-220 fwhp just sounds wimpy.'I will definitly post the dyno results when everything is on, which will probably be awhile since i heard it takes a long time to get the pcm from canada. my main concern was that i was going to put the 3.5 on it and it is going to be a disapointing power increase. Also where should i order the 3.5 press on pulley from? i'm sure a pulley is a pulley right?

Well I'm lost. First you say it doesn't feel quick at all and ask if a pulley and PCM will change it. Now you say that 200-220 sounds low since it feels so quick. A little clarification would be nice.

It is Torque that moves your car and makes it feel quick. you might have somewhere near 275-300 ft. lbs or torque, who knows.

Will does PCM's and he lives in Cananda...Check out Overkill PCM's. If you plan on to continue modding now is a great time to buy a MPS system from ZZP. It'll run you about 100 bucks for the hub and pulley but if you ever plan on dropping another pulley you can just un-do the 5 bolts and put on a smaller pulley, this is really nice at the track.

If you get a press-on then yes. A paper weight is a paper weight.

The car felt quick a hell since i got it, and it was fully stock, i just feel so far i don't think the car feels like any noticeable power increase. the 3.5 should make a big difference, correct? And i do plan on getting an overkill pcm.

Yes the pulley gives you more boost. More boost = faster car.
