Well first make ur mind up...Do you have a 06'PCM or 05?If you have a 06 you can only scan your car! You can have the "software" but you need the actual tool to scan your car. Without that the software is pointless. You also need to check out hptuners.com

Im sure you could find it on EBAY. I never had a HP, I always had EFILive but thats just cause I had a camaro before I ever had a GP. EFILive will not tune our cars. It wil scan but won't tune. And I believe if you have a Overkill PCM already then its locked. So that means you cant mess with it. If you want anything done to ur PCM then you need to send it back to Overkill. Unless he stopped locking them....You might want to check with him before you put that kind of money down. If your wanting something just to scan with get a wideband!!

its hit or miss, because i know there have been people that have used the 04 PCM in the 05's and still had some bugs with the fuel gauge and other stuff. The 07 has the CAN bus system, and im not sure that the 05 PCM will be compatable.

To connect to your car you will need the cable software and the credits for your VIN (and it has to be an 05 VIN) and you have to buy 05 the credits for the 05

I will take the HPT off your hands if it doesnt work with your car

Im sorry but it DOES NOT have to be a 05 VIN. And not only wil the 05 work in the 07 the 04 will too! I called the local dealership and he put in my 07 VIN and it pulled up 04+ PCM will work for the 07.Also if you have EFILive you can fix the fuel reading!! Because EFILive allows you to! So if your fuel reads backwards due to the 05PCM in ur 07 find someone with a EFILIve to hook up and change it for you!!

Jess i think you misunderstood the post. With HPT if the vehicle is not supported it will not let you tune it because you have to buy the credits.

So that being said if the owner is using a 05 PCM the credits he buys will have to be for a 05 GTP, and with HPT you can open either open a SINGLE VIN only or the entire YEAR of VIN's. Either way he will need to provide a VIN to get the 05 MY open with HPT

No, I have a 2007 I know what he is talking about! There is NO way you can tune a 06+! Therefor you have to buy a 05PCM. I contacted HP tuner about a month ago and asked them when I bought my tuner do I HAVE to have a VIN since my car is a 07! The guy told me NO! You will select the 05GTP and use your 07 VIN. Because the 04+ PCM work in the 07. But can not be tunned! The VIN just shows that its YOUR car and that the credit is for THAT car! It does not affect if you can tune or not. Aslong as it can read the PCM. But you can argue all you want! The moral to the story is! IF HE GOT HIS PCM DONE BY OVERKILL ITS A WASTE. OVERKILL LOCKS THEM!

EDIT: To make it simple to read your VIN has NOTHING to do with the PCM. The VIN is just like your SSN it lets them know who car is who and everything. The only purpose for a VIN is AFTER then tune!
